We at WEHRLY’S AUCTION SERVICES INC. would like to take a moment and say THANK YOU for your business and support over the past 40 years.
We have made many wonderful relationships during these last years. As all of you know the costs of running a home or business continues to rise every year. We here at Wehrly’s have not changed or raised our commission to our consignors since the mid 1980’s. Our commission is still at 30% with a modest pick up fee. Most of our competitors have raised rates to 35% and 40% with pick up fees of $35.00 to $50.00 per hour or they use a buyers premium. We have tried to keep our cost low by cutting advertisement costs, changing to a bi-weekly auction and using our web sites more. All of these things have helped, but not enough. So, after serious thought we have decided that as of FEBRUARY 1, 2009, we will begin to use a BUYERS PREMIUM at our in house auctions. Beginning FEBRUARY 1, 2009, there will be a 12% BUYERS PREMIUM on all items sold, discounted to 10% for cash and approved check. There will be a 7% BUYERS PREMIUM at our gun auctions, discounted to 5% for cash and approved check. There will be no more charges for PA INSTA Check on guns as we feel a BUYERS PREMIUM is a shared cost increase. This will allow us to be more flexible with some of our Consignments instead of the Consignor having to pay all of the costs.
We know there are some of our customers who do not approve of the BUYERS PREMIUM and may choose not to attend any more of our auctions. However, do not cut your nose off just to spite your face, we at Wehrly’s will continue our relationship with our customers as we continue to operate an Honest, Reputable and Fun Auction.
